NBN is the only way
In a previous post I discussed the fact that the NBN here in Australia is being rolled out. (I was going to link to it but with the recent hack of WordPress it was a post that was never backed up-More fool me)
So briefly, I suggested that the copper wires that carry the telephony around the most of Australia is, in a great deal of cases, very old and decaying. Also that the NBN itself and the protocols used maye questioned, but the simple fact is that fiber optics being rolled out is the best way to go. We need a fresh start.
Now we have a new Liberal government. They are staunchly against the infrastructure “costs too much” “running late” just to name a few. This is only part of the scaling back of this infrastructure that’s being proposed.
These guys can explain better www.change.org/NBN , you may have seen the protests Save the NBN
In the last week we have seen from many places on the net, TV and radio of the need for the telephony infrastructure to be given top priority, the one that hit home from me was from COMMSEC. The guy on Sunrise Breakfast TV referenced a lot of companies going off shore we need a backbone for us to competitively edge in world trade, that edge the government is about to cut off at the knees….
Yep, NBN.
In modern politics many supporters of the powerful “pollys” of who get the votes in, the power clubs.. I wonder if there is big multinational conglomerate is in the pocket of Malcolm Turnbull the communications minister. There has to be an ulterior motive for this tearing apart of the future of the internet in this country.
There, its out in the open, I’ve said it. Many are thinking it, but….
I mean, no one could be that stupid not to see the huge benefits to business, government departments, hospitals, medical, just to name a few users of the open free internet.
Turnbull you are a prize tool if you think any other way. Fiber to the door is the only way.
